Krakow Adventure, Part 3: Churches of Krakow

Pope John Paul II was archbishop of Krakow prior to his selection as pope, and his image is all over the city. Like L'viv, Krakow is a church-filled town. The Dominican Church, featured in the first photo below, was filled with ornate wood carvings. The Franciscan Church was our favorite, largely due to the artwork of Stanislaw Wyspianski. His art deco style graces the massive windows. The Basilica of the Virgin Mary features a massive carved altar, shown in the last photo.
