Carter's Five!
Carter is excited about this birthday, especially since it is the last one where he can show his age using fingers on only one hand. He has had a few celebrations, although his real birthday was a couple of days ago. On Wednesday, Carter had the coveted job of snack helper at school. His teacher made him a birthday crown, traditional headgear at the Little Red Schoolhouse. The following day, Lea's parents and sister arrived to celebrate with him. This year's cake was strawberry, with white frosting.
Today Carter invited all of his classmates to a party at the Prairie Park Nature Center. The party was quite exciting, with visits from several snakes, lizards, turtles, a scorpion, a red-tailed hawk, a screech owl, and other creatures native to Kansas, a game, and Carter's earth cake (the second birthday cake this year). Photos follow.
