I am running for re-election to our city council (Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan) and find your election news very interesting. As you may know, both of my grandparents on my Mother's side came to the US from the Ukraine in the early part of the 20th century making me a second generation American. Being an elected official has its upside but I must admit, getting people to vote is very difficult. So many people seem not to care.
